St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation’s employability programme has come to a successful close with the participants receiving their awards at this week’s finale day!
The day was spent at Bowfield Hotel, with an array of different partners delivering informal but engaging activities for the group such as: Police Scotland; DWP Work Coaches; OneRen Active Schools Co-ordinator, and a VIP visit from players Charles Dunne, Joe Shaughnessy as well as current St Mirren academy coach, Charitable Foundation ambassador, ex-footballer: Andrew Webster.
90% of the participants are now in positive destinations since joining the programme in July, with college, part time work or volunteering roles. With the group having completed SQA Employability Unit, Tenancy Unit, Citizenship Award and their SFA 1.1 Early Touches coaching badge – the group are now armoured to continue their journey and keep in close contact with their coaches Michael and Darren should they ever need help.
Thanks to SPFL Trust for their continued support and allowing the delivery of such an amazing initiative, and thanks to all the delivering partners who spent an amazing amount of time and effort ensuring the content they delivered was taken in from the participants.
St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation will be looking provide more opportunities like these in the near future and you can keep updated with all of their news on their website.
